FAQ's Journeys is a 100% Kiwi-made course, designed to introduce "spectators" to the Christian faith. It’s fronted by investigative TV journalist Rob Harley. Since being launched three years ago, Journeys has been run in more than 1000 New Zealand churches. Journeys is a five-week DVD journey exploring the Christian faith through real people, amazing stories and changed lives. The course utilises a unique blend of stories of faith, told by regular people whose lives have been impacted by God. Journeys features powerful interviews about spiritual encounters, and shows how faith works at 'street level'.
Friends for Life is a four-week course available on video or DVD that will help release your evangelical potential. Designed specifically for contemporary 21st Century churches Friends for Life teaches the most powerful techniques available for reaching the unchurched. It's a course which majors on the art of building relationships with non-Christians. Using eye-opening interviews with effective soul-winners as well as people who've been led to faith, Rob Harley discovers how important the building of friendships really is for those who desire to win their friends to Christianity. Here at Great Journeys we have a great relationship with Alpha as we develop resources that will help people on their journey to discover who God is. Journeys in particular is a great pre-Alpha resource. For people who are still very church-shy or who have a very limited basic knowledge of the Christian faith, the Journeys series watched in a small group setting is the perfect non-confontation first step. What is the best way to run a Great Journeys course? All of our resources have been designed with the small group in mind, however people have run them in a variety of ways - on cafe nights, in the pub, one-on-one or in larger groups. Journeys, Friends for Life and Life Stories are all available on both DVD and video. Our newest resources however are only available on DVD. How do I get extra DVDs or videos? If you have already purchased a full Life Stories, Journeys or Friends for Life kit, we are happy to offer you additional copies of the DVDs or videos at a lower price. Can we book Rob Harley as a guest speaker? Can we get short media clips to use in sermons or presentations? Our latest resource The Big Ask features 'Talkbytes' a great new tool for speakers. These 2-3 minute clips can be dropped directly into a presentation for easy and effective illustrations. What are the Journeys Initiatives? A Journeys Initiative involves inviting as many local area churches as possible, to simultaneously run the five-week Journeys programme through their home groups. The key idea is that if we can get a number of churches running the course at the same time, we can get people in your area talking about God, get some genuine synergy occurring, and spur each other on!
